So I bought a bag full of coins on eBay for $25 dollars.  Here were the goodies I got :)
Netherlands:
10 Cents - 1944
25 Cents - 1944
2 1/2 Gulden - 1930

United Kingdom:
3 Pence - 1917
3 Pence - 1940
1 Shilling - 1940
2 Shillings - 1939
2 Shillings - 1944

Venezuela:
1/4 Bolivar - 1936

Canada:
25 Cents - 1911
25 Cents - 1968

Vatican City:
Pope John Paul II Medallion

Also got about a dozen zinc coins and 40 or so other misc. coins.  So, think I got a good deal  :D

Lucky.  :(
Most of it is pretty run-of-the-mill, but that Netherlands guilden is a good find. Certainly you got a good deal. Especially with the zinc stuff too. Can you put up a pic of the zinc?

But what's up with that John Paul medal?? The portrait looks like it was drawn by a 5 year old.

Compare it to one of the portraits of a Vatican city coin

Lucky you! If the Canadian 1911 is an F, it's worth what you paid.

The Netherlands 2 1/2 Gulden and the Canadian 1911 25 Cent were what drew me in.  Those two alone pay for the lot.  Everything else is just bonus.

I'm torn between a grade of G and F on the 1911.  Quite a few small details are there, but all of the high points are worn.  But even at VG8, ngccoin prices it out at $18!
And at spot, the 2 1/2 Gulden is worth $14.
The seller obviously had no clue what they had.  Sucks for them, yea for me :p

The Canadian quarter at the bottom is not silver...  :°

Depends if it's this one: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces3863.html
or this one: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces366.html

What is the difference by the way? Besides the weight.

One has a nickel-metallic color, the other a white color. The quarter in the image is nickel-metallic.

I honestly wasn't entirely sure on that one.  I really do have to get me a scale one of these days.

You don't need to, I'm almost completely sure the coin is not silver.

A scale is still handy to have though.  I need to get one myself one of these days.  I baulk at shelling out $75 for one when that's good money I could be spending on coins.
You got me wondering about the price of scales, so I just did a quick Amazon search: And this is what I found.

Hmm, looks like I'll have to buy foreign rather than kiwi-made, that's a whole lot cheaper than over here.
Netherlands 1944 P or D? That would be an amazing find!

I got exactly the same one on eBay last year. Was about $1 cheaper. There is more.

They are both P.  Absolutely beautiful condition.

What were the other 40 random coins?
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins
Very nice glorkar! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit jealous....good snag!

Mostly commons.  Couldn't tell you for the life of me what they were any more.  They've already been sorted and slid into the collection :)
