Unknown Arabic silver coin

Hi,
can somebody please help me with this coin? It is a silver coin with a weight of 5.5 g. It is very thin and has a diameter of around 40 mm. Thank you!!

Can anybody read what is written on the coin? Seems to be a very uncommon coin....
Typically the first thing I look for is a date (mainly because that's all I know how to read.)  I don't see one on this coin/token at all.

My first idea was medieval Iran. Any experts for that?
So far I found out that it is a dirham from the Samanid Dynasty and quite old. It is hard to find out more....
It's a multiple dirham but not sure of date and probably ancient Persia.
Thank you Tony! I bought this coin a few years ago in Afghanistan for little money. As far as I know, the Samanid empire included todays Afghanistan back than...
I do see many similar coins under "Samanid - Ghaznavid coinage of N. Afghanistan" in Mitch Catalog.

Not sure which one is this exactly though

Yes I have seen many similar coins like those in the catalog but all have something written above and under the inner circle with the legend. Mine has only dots.
