Mansfeld-Bornstedt 1671 1/3 Thaler -- Help Grading

I'm not very experienced grading coins of this age. Can anyone offer some tips?

I think it's authentic, but would also be interested to hear opinions to the contrary.

I''l step out on the limb with a VF(-) taking in to consideration of age and high point wear..

I'm thinking VF as well, but when I try to find comparisons online, it seems like everyone else is using a different standard.

I my opinion, one should degrade by one step from what a seller implies … I would give that coin a VF(+) and a small plus at that..

Maybe it's just because I bought it, but I like mine better than the one at coin archives -- mine has less wear on the obverse, especially in the frame around the eagle (chicken?). Mine also has an intact rim all the way around.

What do you see in mine that makes it a lower grade? Not arguing, just curious.

This isn't the exact coin, but is close enough to be a data point in grading.

I sent this coin off to PCGS and it came back XF45! Who would have guessed, that puts it the $250 range.

I just wanted to say XF, when I saw you confirmed my thoughts.
For a little wear people tend to give F, VF grade.
