Ottoman?

8 сообщений
Recently bought a bulk of """trash""" coins and among them there are almost 80% made in the early 1900s and a lot with Silver.

I was able to identify all in Numista except these two:

On the back they have the symbol as other Ottoman coins in the site, but I couldn't pin point these maybe because not all Ottoman coins have scans.

Help please. And if they are missing the images I can use mine to upload them, but first I need to know what I have.

Right one Egypt 1 qirsh.
The left one is a 1 Qirsh (Abdul Hamid II) from Egypt. Islamic year 1293, but mintmarked ٣٠ (1904)

The left one is 1 qirsh too!
Usually, if an Ottoman coin is not actually Ottoman, it's Egyptian. I think this is what you have here.

I can't find your regnal year (the date of the Sultan's accession is frozen for his whole reign, and two numbers indicate how many years have passed since then) for 1 silver qirsh, so I think you have 2 qirsh - this also matches the relative sizes of your coins. "20" and "30" look similar in Arabic, but you have "20".

Nice finds!
I knew I have seen them somewhere  :°

Thank you very much guys. I will upload photos of my """trash""" coins purchase to the Bargain post soon. I think I got really good stuff for low cash.

I think the big one is the 2 Qirsh one, because it has the quivers with arrows at bottom, and the 1 Qirsh doesn't. Just like nalaberong says, because the small one feels like common nowadays coins and the big one clearly feels like silver, you kinda get the feeling after handling several silver coins as how they feel different (maybe I'm just imagining things thou). Also, since I didn't uploaded the Obverse you couldn't see the Quivers and Arrows I'm talking about.

I forgot to scan what seems a token, but it is pretty simple it reads like follows:

Side A:
CHAS.SENS

Side B:
(Half circle above): VALE VINTE
(Half circle bellow): EMMERCANTIA
(In the middle):
    _._

CENTAVOS
    _._

It is 22mm wide, with smooth edge 1.2mm thick. CuproNikel color (similar to silver color).
Any ideas?
