Swiss Canton Neuchatel, 1/2 Batzen

Hello all,

got recently a lot of coins and among them, found this coin on the left:

which I identify as: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces23093.html year 1800 or 1803? The point is the diameter is smaller than 22.6 mm, it is about 18-19 mm, I put a 1 Centime for size comparison. I don't have a scale to weigh it, sorry, but it clearly seems billon. Do you think it was cut in this smaller size, or maybe was struck on a smaller planchet? Or maybe a fake?

Most probably it was cut to smaller size. Have a close look at the rim, please.

My suggestions https://t.me/enjoyyourcollection
The coin is very thin, and the rim is flat, it looks like a normal coin rim. I don't think it was cut after the minting, or if it was cut after minting was done very professionally.

Interesting find.  To me it looks like a 1803 1/2 Batz struck on a Kreuzer planchet (18mm).
Hello jim275,

I have reached in the same conclusion a few days ago after consulting the Neuchatel coins. I reached in the conclusion that the coin is the 1/2 Batzen 1803, but struck in 1 Kreuzer planchet and in my opinion also the reverse is from 1 Kreuzer 1803: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces29365.html  I base this on the fact that my coin doesn't have the dots above the flowers close to the cross, while the 1/2 Batzen picture on Numista and even NGC have dots above the flower close to the cross. Only the 1 Kreuzer reverse doesn't have those dots.

I managed to weigh the coin and take picture of the edge, it is 1.20 gr. I have expressed my thoughts on the French Forum as well, but no comments were made there:  https://en.numista.com/forum/topic26333.html
