When I was a kid, I collected all of these I could find, recently I went to a coin club and auctioned off a $10 roll, it went for $10.25 seems like these have no value whatsoever and I have found about 7 more.
I've even found several of them here in New Zealand. They can't be that rare, mintage numbers are almost a billion so I'd say they're just worth spending
I just keep them. I have put some as extra in swaps I think i have like 8 rolls of them. Very common here, but David i have found over the years like 3 or 4 1976 S What is silver , That makes it nice to look at them.

Yes, I have always looked for the silver one, but never found one. I'll keep looking
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Don't want to rain on your parade, but are you certain they are silver? The S mintmark has both 40% silver and clad varieties. I did some research a while back, and came to the conclusion that the silver coins will have a solid edge color, and the clad ones the typical three layers of copper-nickel clad copper of the current US quarters (the weight is virtually identical). I don't, however, have a silver bicentennial coin to test this conclusion with. If someone else does, I would appreciate some enlightenment.
Dear rhino
Yes the silver S shows no copper. Whereas the non-silver S shows copper.
The silver one is in the right. It's just like the 50 cent coins 1965-1970.
Here's the one I am sending David
I hope this helps yours daryl
Edit: David - the front is just a hair offcentered - is that OK ?
