Error or localized wear?

I have this 1995 1 dirham from the UAE with the reverse missing some lettering in the middle.

Would you class this as an error or could this have been through localized wear?

Unless someone has been sitting for a couple of months vigorously rubbing just the middle of one side of the coin, I'd say it's an issue with the minting process, worn die giving a poor stike or something like that.

Yes, I also would say that, when it was minted the lettering must have been present, but faint due to a worn die, than with the circulation it went almost off.

Thank you for confirming!
What is the difference between an error and inferior minting?
