Edward I Coin Fake?

I purchased this Plantagenet coin about 6 years ago, I assume its one of the first 3 Edwards.
I believe it may be fake as the material on the inside of the coin appears to be whitish (on the edges of the chip in the coin), it does not come out well in the photograph.
