USA Gold 1 Dollar "Liberty Head" (Type 1) 1853 [решено]

My sister has asked me to sell the above coin and I will be putting it on e-bay and I was wondering what minimum reserve I should put on it.

Thanks for the speedy response, I am not familiar with the USA grading system so I appreciate your valuation. I will be placing it on UK e-bay so I don't think I will get anyone for the USA bidding and will probably put a reserve of £100.

USA gold is pretty popular, I would put a reserve at or slightly below current valuation (about £174)  start it at £150, that way you make sure you don't give it away for a song.

i can see it fetching £120 on ebay

all ebay.co.uk listings will also be on the .com, so if you state you will ship worldwide with tracking to protect yourself, then you will get a much broader audience of potential buyers.

after researching it for an hour or so, I agree with what neil has put, reserve at  £150, that will also be attractive to U.S collectors.

I have already had an offer of £100 and have not yet advertised it!

My only thoughts about the US market is that a customs tax would have to be paid by the buyer.

If you've already had an offer before advertising it, that would tell me that it's worth more than £100

i think on your coins the head don't look on the right direction,i have a 1853 o 1dollar of this type and the head is the left profile.and on the ngc link the head is the left profile too

I sold it to someone on Numista.com for £150

My sister is very pleased with the price and is busy looking in the loft for the other one!

 (I am not sure of the date or condition and will post it on Numista.com when and if she finds it)
