Purchased this coin the other day, but can't find any examples of it, does anyone know what it is? Thanks, Tom.

Hi thomasdavis I don't know and may be way off. But to me looks like a early Spanish new world coin. or Argentine province coin. But let the guys who know look at it

I think that's the coat of arms of Rostock. But I'm on the phone can't search properly.

ARGENTEA means "Silver"
MONETA NOVA means "New Coin"
The date is likely 1704, possibly a Thaler (or 1/2 Thaler) from the German States?

I thought it might be a Dutch Zeeland coin, because of the lion. But I really don't know.

Dreiling or 3 Pfennig or also 1/192 of a Taler from Rostock.
surprisingly not listed in Krause catalogue
