Firstly, as you know the year 1993 is not the minting date; yours is 2001
KM# 269 was from 1995-2008
KM# 269a was from 2003-2010
So yours can only be KM# 269
Both are 24mm size. The difference is the metal. KM# 269 is copper-nickel (and so is not magnetic) whereas KM# 269a is magnetic as it is nickel-plated steel. So anyone who has a coin from the years when both versions existed i.e. 2003-2008 just needs a magnet to tell which KM number they have.
