Bought this pin in a mixed lot of pins and medals. It is 25mm in diameter and not magnetic (may be nickel). Any idea who minted it and how much were made?
Thanks
Jannie
From my (rather poor) knowledge of British Monarchy.
In 1923 Prince Albert marries Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.
Three years later they gave birth to our current Queen, Queen Elizabeth II.
In 1936 King Edward VIII gets crowned following the death of King George V (his father) and abdicates, wanting to marry Wallis Simpson (because she was a divorcee, he had to abdicate if he wanted to marry her, which he did). The next in line was Prince Albert (King Edward VIII's brother and second son of King George V), who became King George VI, and Lady Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth. (Not Elizabeth II as she wasn't the "proper Queen", but she was Queen Consort, as she was the spouse of a reigning monarch.)
King George V (Prince Albert) died in 1952.
Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II.
And Queen Elizabeth became known as Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
And the GR/ER stands for George Rex/Elizabeth Regina.
Rex and Regina being Latin for King and Queen, respectively.
(But I reckon I'm teaching many of you to suck eggs with that one)
Hopefully that's factually correct, and I've not missed anything glaringly obvious.

I'm not an expert in any kind of coins, but I reckon I'm good at research and will do my best to help. Feel free to tell me my identifications/valuations/gradings are wrong. It's the only way I'll learn.
