South African Amateur Swimming Union Medal

Good Evening
Here is another one of my medals. This one was designed by A.J. HENOCHSBERG & Co. in Johannesburg. This designer also had a office in Basing House, 17 & 18, Basing-hall Street, London. It was won in the S.A TEAM RACE CHAMPIONSHIP 1909/1910, WON BY TRANSVAAL, R.J.RALPH. Although it is stuck in copper, this is a first price medal. It has a beautiful springbok on the front, is 32.5mm in diameter.
Did anyone came across a similar medal? How does one determine the value of such medals? Do medals also get graded or is the fact that it is rare overtakes its grade?
Thanks
Jannie

Non est totum quod splendet ut aurum
Rijkdom bestaat niet uit het hebben van veel bezittingen, maar in het hebben van weinig behoeften
Thanks
I have seen that piece of information. Trying to find out more about it. Surely more must have been minted?
