I can't seem to find anything on the two varieties noted on the denomination "5" of the 5 Korun coin.

thanks!

It's probably not about the 5 in the denomination but about the 5 in the date.
I don't see any difference on internet and eBay.
It might be a small minted difference.

I will have to correct that note :D

I do not own this variation as it was for sets only.

You can see it here: http://www.richtera.cz/numismatics/loadframe.html?bohemia_1993.html

Just scroll down to 5 Korun and click on the last line of it's sheet (only clickable thing there).

Whole date is more thick and mitmark is slightly different.

When looking for something for Czech Republic or Czechoslovakia, never hesitate to contact me directly, if I am able, I will always try to answer. B)

Thank you very much for the link Jarek (or Jarcek?). It's a pity it's only in Czech, but nevertheless I bookmarked your link.

There is a small difference in the 5 (as I suspected the 5 in the date and not the 5 in the denomination as thought in the first post) and in the distance between the digits in the date (see red markings).
But the easiest way to determine this variety is the difference in the mintmark (see green markings).
I have it also bokmarked, right now I am in the middle of managing Czechoslovak and Czech Silver commemoratives - and adding the gold ones. (And managing some other parts of catalogue) After that, I am going to manage varieties. B)

Hi essorprof,

how did you manage to copy the images? I cannot select them at all!

I hope you make a change request with those two images?

It's an interesting site, but how to get around to translate the accompanying texts, when you cannot copy them into a translator?

Hi Ole, I just use "Print Screen" and copy the image to "Paint" and edit it there.

Change request is made.
Hi,

I thought about that, but I was sure one would suffer a lot of pixel loss, which is obviously not the case! So all the other varieties from that site might then be used the same way, but what about copy rights?

Can we assume, that everything put on the web is public? I once had a change request refused, because ONE of the images was from amazon.com (they also sell coins!). Anyway we'll see, and of course I think it should be accepted, for the good of all of us8)

I'm sorry, I really have no idea about that.
I am trying to collect those variants, so I could take photos - so copyright would not matter. And since I am not very good with images, I would probably asked the migty Ole for a small pleasure, who have marks all over the catalogue - they are awesome works! <:D

And essor prof already did it. Thanks again. I will also ask the guy personally, if we can use his works. ;)

As I already told Ole on this forum a while ago, every Numista member is allowed to use my pictures.
The problem however for the picture of the 5 korun 1995, that's not my own picture. I used the pictures on the website you referred to, and edit these to indicate the differences. But I don't know anything at all if these pictures are copyrighted or free to use.
Hi Jarcek, I just saw you validated the coin request about the 5 korun 1995.
I think if you put together with the picture a link to the Czech website as source, there won't be any problem about eventual copyright.
By the fact that you can't resize the page or mark anything on it and the source code is is not much but copy right information I would think this guy has an interesst in protecting his copyrights.

But maybe if you ask nicely ;)
I will ask nicely, it seems that he is amateur numismatic, with a dream of creating a catalogue. This would be like: Dreams come true and you are part of it!

Hi Jarcek,

I've "downloaded" all the variants found by Oliver (Lukas Richtera) from his site. I'll now have a look through my own coins, to see if I find some of them. If I find any of the variants, I can use my own coins as a basis and document from them.

Anyway if I use Oliver's or my own images, I'll of course give his name and his site (as the first person having documented the variants visibly!), BUT only after you've had a conversation with him, OK?

Just wrote an email to him, I will come back here, if he answers. :)

Hi again!

So the word is: Permission granted!

Copyright is: © Numismatika Oliver/© Image courtesy of Numismatika Oliver
But there is a slight problem. The owner of the site is also unsure about sources of the images on his site, but Czech and Slovak coins (and images of their variations) from 1918 onwards are his own and for those, he granted us his permission. Also photos of rare coins are downloaded and not his own.

So proceed with caution, but variations are ok.
Catalogue administrator
That's good news. Thanks for your effort to grant his permission.
Hi Jarcek,

thanks for your intervention with Oliver, that's good news for us all.

Yesterday I made quite a few of the documentations, which I'll post you by PM for acceptation and then the change request can be made.

Here is an example

I'll have to change the signature lines on all of the documents of course...

Hi Ole,

Your works are flawless, I have seen so many that I stopped counting long time ago!

Thank you for your effort! They will get validated in no time. B)

Hi,

I'm now through all of the CR variants from the Czech site. I'll open a new message for each to have them checked and maybe somebody will also be able to send images of the variants I don't have to be able to cover the themes in the best manner.

Comments and clarifications are as usual very welcome.

After a certain time, I'll incorporate the feed-back into the documentations and only then will I make the change requests.
