thanks Spookie for ID of the years, but coin 3 is not a Falus but a Rupee. I will check if I can find it with having the year.

I'm pretty sure the date is not 1297 but 1304. The "4" is very clear to see, the "0" is small but you can see it in the red circle:

I'l almost ready with coin nr. 3 but I have to go to my hairdresser first.
And it's strange (because you can now read the date easily) but the left picture must be turned 90 degrees clockwise.
Hi Essor Prof,

I went by the date on the other side of the coin. (Bottom left hand corner). I guess that date was the date the coin design commemorated? I can see where you get the 0, but how do you get the 4? 1301 maybe?

The 4 in Arabic has two different notations: ٤ and ۴ (go to https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php and then click on "special keyboard" and choose Arabic, there you see the two notations for "4").

And where do you see a 9 and 7 on the other side of the coin?
And here is your coin nr. 3: Afghanistan - Barakzai dynasty, 1 rupee AH 1258 (1842) from Shah Shuja al-Mulk, KM# 486 (not yet in the Numista catalog):

You have to turn your left picture 90 degrees clockwise and then you have a perfect match. Left the pictures from Krause, right your pictures:

Coin nr. 4: Afghanistan - Barakzai dynasty, 1 rupee from Muhammad Afzal, KM# 507 (not yet in the Numista catalog). The date is AH 1283 or 1284 (1866 or 1867) but unfortunately as you can see, the date is just outside your coin:

Coin nr. 2 is difficult because I can't see a date there either.

Thank you, that is helpful. The ۴ is new to me.
Coin number 2 should've been the easiest to read but I'm having trouble seeing where the bloody inscription starts and the direction of the text ! From what I can randomly put together by jumping around for letters, it says Qandahar somehow.
Arrigato:wiz:

thank you so much, I hope you don't mind if I post the next ones.

Found coin number 2 ! http://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=150472
It's hard to read an inscription when you can't see the first letter of every word on it ! (like on yours)
Also found coin number 5 http://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=144059
Note that it should be rotated 90 degrees on Zeno. You posted it the correct orientation, they are wrong !
Thanks Heretic_Cata, do you know also the date of the coins?
zeno mentions KM#766 for nr 5 but I cant seem to find such a km# coin for afghanistan.

The date on yours is 1298. As for the KM number, someone in the comments said 223 ?
Nice find again Heretic_Cata for coin nr. 5. Reference number is KM# 223.1:

Here a comparison between your coin and the picture in Krause:

As you can see the image of the reverse of your coin in comparison with the image in Krause is a bit twisted again, but you've already noticed that happens all the time with these types of coins. Except for the twist it is a perfect match.
You guys are great :)
I feel almost sorry Im asking so much and I have quite a few more to identify 0:)

any ideas on 6, 7 and 8?

Don't stop posting them - I'm having fun and learning a lot !
On the phone now - but I can read Rahman again on 7. So it the same guy.
And thank you again Heretic_Cata. I can't read any Arabic except for numerals but the moment you told it was also a coin from Abdur Rahman identification was easy:

Apuking: comparison between the pictures of your coin and the pictures in Krause:

So a perfect match except for a little twist as usual.
Thanks so much :-) 6 and 8 is more difficult again because of no complete visible date?

I hope you don't mind but I will post the next three.
Sorry cant measure the diameter anymore as my digital scales have run out of batteries.
the next few coins might be 1/2 rupees as they seem smaller and lighter.

Number 9 is Qajar Persia. From what I can read it's Nasir al-Din Shah. And found it !
http://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=88284
Number 11 is also Persia - i'm not sure on the shah but i think the coin says "Dar al-Muminin" which is the epithet of Astarabad. I think it's pre-Qajar tho ... I'm still searching.
Thank you, so thats the first ones from Iran.
I have found that the coin has the catalogue number Mitchiner 2160
obly for the KM catalogue Im unsure if its KM# 824.6 or 824.15

Number 10 is certainly KM#413.
As for 11 still nothing ... Zeno has 500+ pics of coins from Astarabad, might take a look at those soon.
Thank you, that leaves only 6, 8 and 11 to identify.

and for coin 9 im not sure about exact KM# 824.?
