Abdul Hamid II came to power on 31 August 1876. That date was the beginning of the 1st year of reign. 31st year started 30 years later, that would be in 1906. Since Hijri year is based on lunar months, it is 10-11 days shorter than a year in Gregorian calendar. So in fact the 31st year of his rule started in October 1905 and lasted for about 355 days, that is mostly in 1906. That was why I mentioned earlier "probably" 1906, allowing for the possibility that the coin was issued into circulation in 1905, during the first 40-50 days of the 31st year of reign.
