Fake coin ? ; Edward 7 sovereign 1916.

I have a strange coin. I've been searching the internet, but can't find it. Might it be a fake? The reign of Edward VII was only till 1910.

Yes, many counterfeits were made; however you could still have a valuable coin if your coin is made of a precious metal.

Your coin is DEFINITELY NOT an Edward VII sovereign. Apart from the date, the protrait side is wrong, the inscription is misplaced and the signature below the head showld not be there.

The picture of St George slaying the dragon looks wrong as well, looks more like a 1911 Sovereign design, which my poor eyesight seems to pereceive as being a slightly different design to the earlier Edward VII, as though the counterfeiter has confused the two.
