Nice coin! NGC list it as $150 in VF condition, up to $570 in MS.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

Sometimes I wonder about catalog prices, I saw this post yesterday and checked on it at a local coin show this morning. Three dealers had the 0.05 lek - all 3 were in VF or better condition. The most expensive one I saw was $16.

That's a pretty big margin.

I haven't been to a coin show since the 80's, is it worthwhile from the buyers perspective? Well, clearly if you're looking for an Albanian key date LOL. It's one of those things I keep meaning to try but never seem to get around to it.

Like joining a coin club, there is one in Clearwater which seems quite active and I've been meaning to join. I like the idea of member's auctions and exchanges but I'm prepared to be disappointed by finding a whole bunch of dealers looking for a fast buck.

Won't know unless I try I reckon.

I'm based in Texas and I collect mostly British India and India Republic coins - not exactly a prime market for India coins! Prices are typically 1/4 of what is sold on ebay and at very good grades. After talking to the only dealer of non US coins at the show today, I've decided to join the local coin clubs. The member dealers do not want to fool with non US coins and are looking for someone to unload their non bullion coins on. I am hoping to become their "unloadee" of choice!
Phil, you touched on this in one of your posts - almost every dealer at the show was a gold or silver monger (melt value guys) - not one of them have the time to fool with numismatics. I don't blame them - I saw people bringing in a lot of gold and silver coins to sell and business was brisk.
Collections are also now coming into the market in large numbers - people who were in the war or their heirs are selling and the coins are of very good quality. Good times to be a coin collector. By the way I did pick up one of those 0.05 leks - nice coin
