Old coin, probably from Afghanistan/Pakistan? KM# needed

8 сообщений
Here's a strange old coin I can't find.  I looked up the 1801 to 1900 K&M catalog but couldn't find it. But it's probably afghanistan or a country in the vicinity because they used similar designs for their hammered coins.

Any idea what this thing is from? I would need a KM# number. Help appreciated. Thanks

This looks like a very old coin from a country in either North Africa or the Middle East.

You should have a look here; http://www.zeno.ru to try & find it pictured.

As for being listed in Krause,it is too early to be listed in there.

Aidan.
It look like an old turkisk coin.
Maybe from Maridin or Rom.
When the turkish poeple entered in Anatolia they asked at local poeple to made them monney. The artists copied old greek and roman coins on one side and put an arabic text on the other side.
On Internet try "Urtukds of Maridin" and "Selkujids of Rom".
I found these pictures on the internet. they're from Krause&Mishler, since they are the same in my catalogue. If I violate copyrights, I apologize. I did not see any other possibility to compare my coins to similar ones.

These coins look similar to
KM#48 Falus from Afghanistan (KM#46 Falus is somewhat similar, too)

India Princely States, Ranbir Singh
KM#1.2 Paisa

is also similar. Seems that coin probably comes from that region in between afghanistan/pakistan/india

This one look like your
