I think that in most countries the national coins go for higher prices than in other countries. Mainly because there are more people collecting their own coins than world coins. Unless I'm seeing this wrong ?

Not always, US coins and banknotes are way more expensive here than across the pond.
The verdigris and rim damage have no bearing on the grade. Grade the coin on it's merits based mostly on how much wear it has suffered with a minor consideration given to secondary matters such as eye appeal and note any incidental issues seperately.
