Model half farthing mule

8 сообщений
Has anyone ever heard about a model half farthing mule and what they're worth? I found one while browsing through some sites

I don't think that's a mule I've seen loads of those I think they were just coronation pieces.
It's a Lauer Model Half Farthing.
Apparently there are several combinations of reverse and obverse.

That one seems to be a "Reverse 3" and "Obverse G".
Description from the link for that combination is:
"Edward VII, Jubilee Mule (Muled with the 1897 reverse - Edward VII never celebrated a Jubilee), Copper, legend spacers (closely spaced and aligned), small ampersand, six pointed star, decorative font"

Edit: Although not sure why it mentions ampersand, the ampersand is only on the Victoria obverse.

I'm not an expert in any kind of coins, but I reckon I'm good at research and will do my best to help. Feel free to tell me my identifications/valuations/gradings are wrong. It's the only way I'll learn.
Hi Neil
How many would you like as I collect them and about $5-$10 some people charge more.
Mine is CGML-1902C-9H on the farthing site

It has to be a mule because it has queen Vic's reverse and Edward VII's obverse. The ones for his coronation have "coronation" on the reverse rather than "jubilee"

To me they are like apprentice pieces showing what the company could do and heres my smallest

size 7mm, weight .23grams.

Lauer did a lot of model coins--also toy coins for the rich children for their play sets.

Cheers Don
Those are awesome Don
