It is not a coin, but a token of some sort, and not very old, so it could be from Egypt or anywhere else. If the hieroglyphics (identical on both sides) mean anything, they should probably be read alphabetically (i.e. each symbol equivalent as a letter). Try this

in Google Images and look for the same symbols (note that some tables are more complete than others). The lion is "L", the next symbol is "E" or "Y", etc. So ...
L E/Y L E/Y but then it gets harder ... and perhaps it should be read from right to left ...
Or it may just be a series of hieroglyphs with no meaning ...
