Canada 1971 $1 British Columbia commemorative question

This is the CU/ NI circulation issue.
I was adding this coin to my xmas giveaway pile and thought I would check that it was actually worth sending as I know nothing about it.
The coins condition is excellent, no dings, no scratches, no marks, basically BU.
Any marks in the pictures are on the plastic cover not the coin.
My question is, am I giving something away with a greater value than I am aware of or is it a $5 - $10 coin that would make a nice gift to someone ?

2017 catalog lists it a US$2.25 in MS60, 3.50 in MS63, 2.25 for the prooflike and 175 in MS65
