Third farthing & farthing

I bought these two at the coin club meeting last night, and I'd like you folks' opinion on the grade to determine how good of a deal I got.

The pictures aren't great, but it's not easy getting a decent picture of coins this size when all you have is a mobile phone...

1837 farthing:

1885 1/3 farthing

Do they reach VF and EF respectively (which is what they were graded at there)?
I would be comfortable with those grades, nice coins :)
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.

It's about right. I'd give the first one a bit less than VF. Probably VF-
Agree with Bam777, the William IV would be labelled as VF- in my collection and the Vicky would probably be XF+/AU (depending on if you even use AU) because of the nice amount of remaining luster

Thanks everyone - looking at the values in the 2016 Perkins Collector's Coins Britain, I didn't do too badly with a price of 95 DKK (£11) for the pair.

The 1885 1/3 farthing is listed at £6 in VF and £25 in EF, and the 1837 farthing is listed at £4 in F and £25 in VF.
