USA one cent 1965 (white color)

i found this coin in a currencies box, I thought it was a one dime but no, it's really a one cent

someone can tell me more information about this coin, why is it white ? used a chemical product ?

I think I see a little bit of the copper color on the reverse, so my guess is someone plated this coin.
