German pfennig.

Hi all, I believe this is the first time posting a question so I ask for your patience and knowledge at the same time. My name is Trevor and I live in the Kawartha lakes region of Ontario in Canada. I am 62 and have been collecting things on and off most of my life. I have a small collection of coins and I really like world coins. I have some German coins that I picked up in a lot at a flea market in 2015 and today, April 8 2017, I was searching some coin values and became somewhat confused with a particular coin I have in my possession. The coin is a 1924 German 5 pfennig. Now here is the confusion, in front of the word pfennig, is the word, renten. During my on-line research I also seen, reichs pfennig. Both of these terms or words are on the same value coin of 5 pfennig. Could someone here who has knowledge please offer an explanation as to what this means? Thank you!
The rentenpfennig were made in 1923 till 1929 (Rentenmark coinage)

The Reichspfennig was made starting in 1924 till 1936 (Reichsmark coinage)

The letter after the date gives you the mintplace
