Hello, I have a question about 5 pence coin from 1991 https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces15616.html
In all the catalogues of coins I have checked, is stated that it has an 18 mm diameter. I found on ebay auctions with this coin and compared this coin with 1 penny coin (diameter 20.28 mm) it looks like it has 23.60mm diameter and not 18mm. I'm a little confused. Does anyone have this coin and can confirm what are the real parameters.
Not necessarily an error. In this time of transition from large size to small size, it is possible that the coin was issued in both sizes. Many proof and mint sets would contain both large and small. UK has done this, not surprised if one of their posessions did the same.
