Hello,
They are also questions of counterfeits. Search for a "X" letter at 11 h that is counterfeit. I think the value will reduce to as low as 20$ as it is also turned into a medallion.

Best regards
Subha

No, it isn't. An "X" after the date indicates that it was one of the many restrikes of the original 1780 release, issued by the Austrian Mint as a trade currency. These are no more "counterfeit" than English and American trade dollars. Do you really think that forgers would add an "X" to the design to give away the whole game?

Please stop.

To answer the question (correctly), what you have is as described above. These are struck from silver and are pretty common having only a slight premium over their worth as scrap silver, currently just over $12. Some of the earlier restrikes can be identified by the dies used during each period but that goes way beyond my humble expertise and is largely academic as any numismatic value was destroyed when it was made into jewelry.

They are beautiful coins, enjoy it for what it is, a great example of the engraver's art. However, it's not from 1780, has no value as a coin and it's most definitely not a counterfeit.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.
Make Numismatics Great Again!

"Please stop" ? What would you mean by this? Sorry, but I didn't speak the correct word but I would just say "It is 20~25 years old"
Though nothing to stop.
The Maria Theresa thalers have been (re-)struck almost continuously by one or another European mint since 1780. See www.theresia.name for everything one might want to know about these coins, including an exhaustive listing of restrikes and their identifying characteristics.

I Believe Phil is referring to the manner in which your reply came across which did come over as if you called it a fake. This is simply not the case. It's a modern restrike and has been officially stuck by the Vienna mint and other countries mints by contract through the years.

As Dlt coins says use that site, I identified a Calcutta I think it was British minted one which is exactly what I was after.
The official restrikes were made from 1946 to today. To my knowledge it's not possible to verify the exact date.

I agree. Restrikes are very well made over a large period of time in large quantities.
Nice to have, but low in value.
