I checked this coin https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces6209.html in my collection and I can't discover any lettering on the edge. Only 7 reeded and plain sections.
Is this a variaty or what?

I think that lettering above was added later. It is my edge picture on that page also; I no longer have that coin unfortunately (must have swapped it) - but do not remember any lettering either. While adding the picture, I would have deleted the lettering description at the same time. Not to say it is wrong, at the moment - as cannot be sure; but do think it is wrong.
I have the same coin, a 2000 Kazakhstan KM#26, and that does not have any edge lettering either. However, the edge details listed on the Numista page are also given on the on-line Krause catalog at www.numismaster.com
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.
