Help with two German coins

9 сообщений
I have two German coins that I can't seem to find on numista. First is a 2 pfennig from 1833 or 1839 (can't tell which). Diameter about 23 mm.

The second one is silver and looks to have the coat of arms of Saxony on it. I can't find it anywhere though. Coin is just uniface with the back being a press of the front. Diameter 14 mm.

Looks like a 1833?

Thank you both! I found the Hannover coin in the Krause book, it's #147.1. Does anyone know if the Saxony coin is in the Standard Catalog of German Coins?
Yes it should be, the second looks like this one https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide/world/german-states-saxony-ernestine-pfennig-mb-114-1512-13-cuid-175547-duid-393814

From time to time I sell some coins on Ebay make sure to follow me @apuking on Ebay.
It might be in the second edition of the Standard Catalog of German Coins. Doug had added many issues to the NumisMaster database, to push the German States issues basically back to 1500, but many of these did not get into print in the first or second edition.
(I took all my German States coins to Iola, Wisconsin while Doug was working on the NumisMaster database, and he selected about 100 for which he needed photos.)
I no longer have access to the NumisMaster database, and Krause has stopped using the company that was servicing that website.
Thanks again.

so the date must be 1833
