New and need some advice

9 сообщений
Hey Numismatics!

I'm relatively new to collecting coins and have come upon an ancient coin that is in very wore condition (not too surprised by its age haha). I can only make out a few details on each side but was wondering how/where you would start to identify it?

If anyone has any ideas that would be great! I love to search and solve the mysteries coins have but really am stumped on where to start.

P.S I have been enjoying these forums even though I don't have much to contribute as far as knowledge goes so thanks for all the time and support you people give to this community!
Hello!

It would be very helpful for everyone if you put on photos so that we can actually identify the coins that you desire to be identified:O.

Do not argue with ignorant people .. !! They will drag you down to their level, then pulverize you with experience ...

Hi MGolling, I can't really say welcome to the forum so I'll say welcome to your first post instead!

Don't feel bad about forgetting to upload your photos as quite often I've had to go back and edit a post for doing just that, or sometimes for forgetting to add a link! My family often have a go at me for forgetting to add attachments when I send emails as well!

Agreed!!
And welcome to Numista.

We all started with a few coins, after some 100s of years you will have enough experience too.:D

Rijkdom bestaat niet uit het hebben van veel bezittingen, maar in het hebben van weinig behoeften
Wow thanks for the fast response! here are a couple pictures.

the diameter is .625in or 15.875mm
I am unsure of the weight but am getting a scale today!!
Not sure how I would identify the metal either

Thanks again guys for being supportive to learners!!!! :)
