Historic Valuations of Coins?

6 сообщений
Hi!

I am new to this site, forum, and precious metals collection in general. For several reasons, I need to know if there is a relatively straight-forward way to obtain historic values of certain coins.

For example, I am trying to find out what the value was of the Canadian coin listed in the Numista URL below in June of 2017.

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces95927.html

Does anyone know of a reference or resource to obtain that kind of historic valuation info?

Thanks!

Thanks much - great idea!

I don't know if my search technique is flawed, but it doesn't appear the page with the coin price I need is saved to the Wayback machine in July of 2017 - but I'll keep searching...

Thanks again!
If I am not mistaken, the coin whose July 2017 value you want is a bullion coin with little numismatic value it seems, so would you not be essentially looking for silver spot price at the time?

If that is the case, then any precious metals tracking website should be able to help you, since it is only about a year ago.

Numista didn't have values on the site until earlier this year, unless you mean the numiscorner/ebay links on the side.

Thank you very much for that link, I didn't know that. Now we can dive in Numista's history.
Interesting feature but they stopped with it just a few weeks before I became a member: the amount of coins per country in the "Country and Territory" list: https://web.archive.org/web/20150323142542/http://en.numista.com:80/catalogue/pays.php
Also interesting, the growth of Numista's catalogue: in three years time (the time I'm a member) the amount of coins in our catalogue doubled, that's very impressive. I remember we were talking on the forum about the 100,000th coin, it doesn't seem that long ago and now we're on more than 128,000.
Many thanks to all the contributors.

@aking: sorry for hijacking your thread a bit.
