Just purchased this coin on ebay India for less then a USD. I am not very sure about the authenticity of this coin. I collect Republic India coins so my knowledge of British India coins is limited. Let me know your views. Cheers!!
Though that second link says 1835-1849 only. So ...
My first link KM# 446 says 1835-1858 years.
Perhaps 1849 should be added, also 1857 and 1858 removed.
As the link KM# 463 below is 1857 and 1858 so maybe they were added to my first link in error.
One final complication; the site with that second link has separate listings -
KM# 446.1 is 1833-1835
KM# 446.2 is 1835-1849
Perhaps Numista should have two separate pages, or add 1833 to the first link ?
Though your coin looks very old still the detailing is much better than my coin and that is what is worrying me. I am not very sure about the detailing and the sharpness of the details but as mentioned earlir my knowledge of such coins is very limited and I trust you completely on your verdict.
Those Quarter Anna coins are in excellent condition. Hope you remember I told you that post Republic India I will be concentrating on British India but wasn't aware that finding British India coins in XF or UNC condition is such a herculean task.
Hang in there! The coins will come. I've had a lot of instances where I've paid too much for a low grade coin so I could fill a gap, only to find a much better specimen the next week at a lower price! I'm now learning patience and to avoid buying the first coin I see unless it's in a decent grade. But ultimately it depends on each individual and on the reasons they are in this hobby - there are no rights or wrongs - just a lot of fun and learning!

Yes, happens with me all the time but as you rightly said its not about grade, genuine/ fake, money you spent but its about fun and learning. I always have great fun interacting with experienced collectors like you and from the day I have joined this forum I am learning something new everyday.
