Looked genuine to me. Checked the size and weight at home. 34.5 mm and 12.8 grams which differs a lot from the on listed on numista.

I was just browsing ebay, that coin seem plentiful and not expensive.
examples for sale in the US$10-30 range look like that.

No reason for making chinese copies, but there are many contemporary counterfeits. But they're more common for Bahia coins (counterfeiting was out of control in the interior on that period), I think Rio de Janeiro fakes are rare.
Yours is fine, the thin lines inside the shield are hard to copy perfectly (I have 2 contemporary fakes to compare). I have one identical to yours (with nearly the same size discrepancy), I think it's just a smaller than average die.
