Hello,
This is one of my latest acquisitions. I would like to have my attribution double checked.
I'm fairly certain this is a:
ND c.1785-1792 India Dutch Fanam
Tuticorin Mint, KM# 48
0.4 grams
Gold
6.3mm Diameter.
Any help or feedback would be appreciated
Thank you

The reserve is not exactly the same...
Referee to Old Portuguese colonies
Gold Fanams 1336-2000 by Hans Herrli, 2006. p77 (pp70-83).
This design is known as the Kali fannam. It was issued by some of the southern India areas and the English and Dutch rulers. Comparing the illustrations in the book and the photos above leads to the conclusion that this is a fabrication that may be old or modern. The styles of both the obverse and reverse are not correct.
