How does one find which mint this coin is? I am not seeing one on the edge either? Sorry if this is a dumb question and I'm just missing something obvious

I find this info on colnect.
Mintmark in edge: number of "S" with serif identifies mint:
1. S = A Berlino; 2. S = D Munich; 3. S = F Stoccarda; 4. S= G Karlsruhe; 5. S = J Amburgo

That seems like a strange way to do it, thank you very much!
