Old Netherlands copper coins (16/17th century)

6 сообщений
Hello everybody,

I have some 16th/17th century copper coins from the Netherlands, which I couldn't exactly identify or find in the catalogue.

First is pretty similar to this one: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces85065.html but I guess from Flanders instead of Brabant (according to the legend), but I couldn't find informations about this type.

Second is a bit like this one: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces52229.html but with other arms (weight and size is similar).

Third seems to be from the Northern Netherlands (Philipp II?), weight is 3.9 grams.

And fourth seems to be also from the Northern Netherlands (Philipp II?), weight is 2.5 grams.

Thanks for helping me to identify the types exactly :-)

Best Regards,
Michael

Indeed from Flanders, Propably minted in Bruges
The Z on these coins is a Tironian logogram and means 'ectcetera', depending where it is in the legend.
For more information on the 'Z', download this text I made:

Your coin has not the perron of Liege between the lion shield and the 3dotted shield.
There I see a double headed crowned eagle

For the first one see here

entry VLA.6 : Statenduit.

I'd be interested to know what the #2 is.
Thanks for your help :-)

No. 1 is No. 6 of here http://www.duiten.nl/vlaanderen.html (thank you), I added this one to the catalog

No. 2 is this one: https://www.ma-shops.com/knopik/item.php?id=180613009&lang=ru&curr=CADEUR (never seen this county before), I added this one to the catalog

No. 3 is No. 3 of here http://www.duiten.nl/holland.html , I added this one to the catalog

No. 4 might be No. 4A or 4B of here http://www.duiten.nl/holland.html , but it has only 2.5 grams which seems pretty light for an Oord? It is big but very flat.

Hello Petrus,

I informed myself also via Wikipedia this morning. Fun fact, this county consisted only of two parishes in the SE of Maastricht, so no surprise that no one knew it :-)
