similar: Jeton on the negotiations for the Union of Utrecht, dated 1578. The articles of the Union were signed on January 23, 1579. The sheaf of five arrows on the obverse represents the first five States of the Union; the sheaf of seven arrows became the symbol of the Republic of the Seven United Provinces. The jeton was struck in Antwerp (mintmark hand).
Non est totum quod splendet ut aurum
Rijkdom bestaat niet uit het hebben van veel bezittingen, maar in het hebben van weinig behoeften
I don't think that they are Jetons, because they are made in silver with the appropriate weight and quality, further it was not common to file down jeton edges other than the coins that can be found filed down very often.
I would agree to locura, tin fakes are always looking a bit blurry and not so sharp in detail as they don't have enough pressure on their press and stamps compared to the original ones.
I can see the first one is from Ferdinand, but the second one?
Цитата: "Silberschatz"Hello, I have two Spanish 1 Real coins here but as I have no idea of Spanish Reales, can somebody tell me which exact types those are?
No. 1:
No. 2:
Thanks a lot :-)
the said coins are from spain (century XVI) during the reign of the Fernando & Isabel
I believe yours its either a 1 Real or the 2 reales, can you check weight and diameter, the edge is a bit gone but you could see if the words (Castell, Regina or Fernandvs) were part of the wording of your coins will give you a good hint to identified against the coins during this period.
