Old Coin I Cannot Identify - Possibly Greek or Greco-Roman?

9 сообщений
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not a coin collector and my fiance recently acquired several coins in a bulk garage sale - I've tried to use various identification tools without success.

This one looks the most interesting to me. If anyone knows what it is I'd be really grateful.

Weight: 9.7 grams
Diameter: ~30mm
Material: Yellow Metal, possibly Bronze or Brass, density calculation would say Bronze.

hi m, its looks like modern souvenir for tourists. replica of ancient coin

best

Many Thanks for your help Dato,

Could you also just take a quick look at these two others please; as you obviously have extensive knowledgeof this subject.

This one is 20mm diameter and is 6.5 grams.

This is 40mm diameter and is a sturdy 37.4 grams.

Thanks again for your time.
First coin looks like a modern replica or some kind of medal to me.
Second coin seems to be gold French 20 Francs 1913. If it's real diameter should be 21mm, weight should be 6.45161 g. You can find it here: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces2230.html
Third is not a coin but a medal: https://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/numiscorner/239/product/france_medal_il_porte_la_paix_du_monde_louis_xviii_history_1814_andrieu/738620/Default.aspx
I collect and deal in ancient Roman coin. In case you're looking for affordable ancient coins or need any help with the coins you already have send me a message.
Cro123,

Many Thanks for all of the information you shared. I believe the 20 Franc coin is real, it is 21mm now I've measured it exactly, weight on my scales is 6.5g but they are only to 1dp.

Thanks again for your knowledge.
Both looks ok,
but if Ou dont know a way how gold 20 francs came to Your collection, better to test it without damaging of course. Such gold coins never come to collections occasionally :)
I use density calculation, few metals have that density and the ones that do are difficult to machine, apart from Gold, i.e. Osmium, Tungsten etc....

It sometimes does, with a bit of luck. ;)
For the third item, a medal, see:

The coin in this sale is either a restrike or a copy. Your coin has much finer detail.

There is also one in bronze:
