Crusaders' coin?

4 сообщений

Hello, I recently purchased this very cheaply as part of a deal, but I know nothing about it and the inscription is not very visible. Do you recognise that cross? Thank you so much!

16.5mm; 0.47g; billon or copper
I have another one with a cross on, this time a double cross, so I don't think it is crusader. Here it is, I will appreciate your input!

0.62g; 16.5mm

I believe it is a Hungarian denar, maybe this one: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces34648.html

Anyway, I appreciate any help in identifying the two coins. Thanks in advance!
You are correct about the second coin, it is a medieval Hungarian denar. I'm not sure if it's a genuine coin that has been harshly cleaned using chemicals or a contemporary fake. A real denar should be silver, forgers at the time made crude imitations from silver plated copper.

As for the first coin I don't know what it is but I'm not so sure it's crusader. It could just as easily be from the rest of Europe, especially Italian states.
I collect and deal in ancient Roman coin. In case you're looking for affordable ancient coins or need any help with the coins you already have send me a message.
The crusaders did not have coins
But the did carried coins of the templar knights

Rijkdom bestaat niet uit het hebben van veel bezittingen, maar in het hebben van weinig behoeften
