Hi All. The photos are not great and the coins are in poor condition but could anyone identify the top 2 and the bottom left coins please. Many thanks.
Better photos are needed, including both sides of coins, plus weights and diameters to help with attribution. The bottom left coin looks like it could be a pice of the Bengal Presidency in India.
Thank you Seeker55. Yes the photos are bad. Problem is I don't have the coins yet. I won't have them for another week. These are the seller's photos. I am trying to figure out what I am after buying.
You're very welcome. I think you're on the right track with your identification (in other words the Bengal pie is either the one in the link or one very similar), and will be able to identify it for sure when you have it in hand.
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me on Arab coins will be able to help identify the top two coins.
Confirmation that you were totally correct. Well done and thanks again.
I am very happy with the deal. Seller was wanting 12 euro and I offered 10, 8 for the coins and 2 for postage and he accepted. I have no idea what I should have paid but 10 euro does feel like a steal.
Good job identifying the top two coins. I wouldn't worry about a difference of 1 mm in diameter of coins of this period. They were hand-struck and varied from coin to coin.
