Hello
I met a very strange coin. The seller identified it as an Ethiopian coin from 1893. Can somebody tell me what it is?

Hi dryuri,
have a look at Italy KM 27.
The reverse of that coin is the same as yours.
As for the obverse, it appears as if somebody has gotten busy carving a new portrait on the coin.
Many years ago I saw something similar that had been done to an American 5 cent piece. This was the effort of a bored soldier during WW 1. It was called 'trench art'
I suspect yours may be something like that.

Nice, looks like a satirical coin probably relating to the Italian colonies.
there are many of Napoleon III but I havent seen many with Vittorio Emanuele II
