Sorting through my collection I stumbled across this Belgian 5 franc coin with a double strike on the RAU below the King Baudiouns head. Does this error make my coin special and of greater value ? Any advice would be welcomed. Neil
You may get a small premium for that from an error collector, but not much.
Belgian coins from their Royal Mint were notorious for their frequent errors. They discussed this (as well as the closing of the Mint) on the French site about a year and a half ago.

I do not think it is a double strike
The doubling should be visible on other parts of te coin.
I rather think that the legend on that die was recut. The date kind of confirms that theory
Let us wait what Peter says
