Hi,
I would like to kindly ask, if anybody could help me indentify the names of the following coins and their values. I figured, that they probably are Bizantine and Roman. Also, they were found close to Little Petra (Jordan).
They date to the reign of Constantine "the Great", in the later part of his reign (320s and 330s until his death in 337). The top one his of his son Constantius (II) Caesar (= heir) and the bottom one is of his son Constantine (II) Iunior (i.e. "junior") Caesar as well.
So, they are Late Imperial rather than Byzantine.
Both sons formally succeeded their father, along with Constans (youngest son), in September 337. They soon fought each other until only Constantius remained.
