1806 Draped Bust Half Cent- Environmental Damage XF Details

I'm looking to buy this XF Details 1806 half-cent. It has environmental damage, but (to me) it looks pretty mild. I just want to make sure I'm getting a fair price. What would you guys say this is worth?

While the reverse looks close to XF, the obverse looks F+ at best. This is just IMHO, but the saying is right: "Buy the coin, not the holder".

I think a little, but not much, because it's only a small spot on the reverse and it barely affects the design ─ only "OF" is slightly affected.

It depends on so many factors. First, who graded the coin? Second, do you agree with the grade (buy the coin, not the slab.) Third, how bad do you want it? There are many resources and opinions to determine value. PCGS, NGC, and the one mentioned above among others as to what they think is "fair" retail value. I also use the "blue book" where it shows what dealers would generally pay. The environmental damage in my opinion I would use to justify starting at VF value and go from there. Sellers use every reason to get the most for their coin and as a buyer I use every reason for getting it as cheap as I can. If somebody wants to pay crazy money for coins such as what happens on Ebay, they can have it.

​As I said everybody has an opinion. Especially Ebay sellers. Blue book is cheaper.
