Ancient Constantius II Coin?

2 сообщений
I have several pieces of jewelry made with what appears to be ancient coins. The jewelry is made with sterling silver. I'm having a hard time identifying the coins and also authenticating them. (Will create separate posts for the other pieces I have).

Gram weight wouldn't help because of the bezel with the coin. I can't get a thickness of the coin, also because of the bezel. The diameter is 18.4 mm and I think it is bronze.

This one in particular looks a lot like some Constantine coins:
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces165723.html - The reverse looks close and on the obverse, the guy is facing right, but they don't look the same.
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces153935.html - The castle on the reverse looks close but this one doesn't have a star above it like mine and the guy is facing left and looks different.

My question...is this a real coin? If so, I would love more information about its identity and history, etc. And is there any value? I know there could be some value for the piece as a whole because of the precious metal bezel. It doesn't look like it was permanently attached but the hammered edges have it securely in place.

Thanks in advance for any help!
On the obverse I read

C O N S T A N ─ T I N V S A V G

so that would be Constantine II.

It is a real coin. It is worn in the way a coin is when it has been used as a pendant for a long time. In addition, it's a common bronze coin with little value in low grade. It is also quite easy to get in high grade.
