These popped up on an local auction house under the description Ottoman gold coin lot. I don't collect Ottoman coins but I am curious what exactly these are and if they're real:
I don't have their exact weight and the seller claims they're "around" 15mm. The sellers reputation is good.
I collect and deal in ancient Roman coin. In case you're looking for affordable ancient coins or need any help with the coins you already have send me a message.
Can anyone confirm this? Also, can anyone comment about their authenticity? If these really are 25 kurush they're being sold below melt value.

The surface of the side with the tughra does not look original. There is a lack of sharpness to the writing and decoration, Low spots that would not have wear look worn or poorly struck.
I should add that I believe the 50 kurush and 100 kurush coins look similar (though probably a little larger diameter), so really weights are needed to determine which they are and therefore melt value, if indeed they're authentic. I tend to believe they're authentic but to be safe it would be good to verify (perhaps by XRF or other gold tests, at least making sure the weight is correct).
The seller claims they're the "lowest" denomination circulating Ottoman gold coins and that they're 8 karat gold. If they really are 8 karat with a diameter of 15mm the "buy now" price is around their melt value. I'm not looking to buy them since Ottoman coins are not my thing and I'm not sure about their authenticity but I find this lot very interesting and wanted to know the communities thoughts on them.
Any further comments are very welcome.
