I am superintersted in this coin, listed for sale in an auction from a national coin gallery. Question is; in a Proxy bid; what do you think I should bid? Starting price is approx 70 EURO.
What is important is what you grade it at. His opinion may be correct but if it's not certified, his opinion carries no more weight than yours. Its looks to be very nice but you have to decide what it is worth to you. Somebody with lots of money can easily pay more than it's worth to you or I. Good luck. (Please note, the NGC site provided prices the coin as certified and graded values and many auction houses charge a buyers premium above and beyond the bid)
I agree With the quality estimate of somewhere in the AU range. The broker on this auction is very well reputed, and handles 1000s of live auction Objects a year, so i dont have any spesific reason to doubt them.
The AU judgement would leave it in the 100-200 EURO range, depending on cleaned/not cleaned, and general appeal.
So my and the brokers estimate is AU, and it seems you guys are not actively disagreeing :)
