Hello,

I would like to ask for help with valuation regarding this coin
Please consider the condition (as roughly seen on the pictures)

Best regards C
Welcome to Numista. I see you have asked about several gold coins and this is assuming they are authentic. If you go to the NGC website you can get an idea of the full retail, end of the rainbow value estimates for yourself.

Thank you harryg. Yes the 3 coins I have been asking about, are the ones ive been curious about, since they are high on the "rarity-index" on Numista. So, $525.00 listed under "63", which does not tell me very much. Still need to learn more about the grading I suppose.

Does that mean MS63 condition, when it only says "63"?
Yes. Certified mint state by a professional grading company. To know the value of any coin, it is important that you become familiar with grading in general. Below such grade (MS 63 in this case) NGC considers anything less than that grade to be worth essentially bullion value as with many collectors like me. In addition, the "rarity index" here should not be misunderstood as rare. It simply indicates that not many members on this site have that particular coin.

OK thanks for clarifying. What could a real rough estimation of the grade of the coin in the pictures here be (just out of curiosity)? I mean - if I would sell this particular coin- I would probably write, as a real amateur when it comes to grading, something like "circulated coin in good condition"  :). (Though the mintage is actually quite low, which might be worth considering?)

Edit: so that the grades Before MS63 are left blank, does not mean that the info is lacking - it simply means that it only has the bullion value?
Edit2: Circulated might not be the right word here, since it has not been used in commerce?
Essentially bullion value unless in very high grade and of course the premium and assurance that it is a genuine coin that professionally graded coins bring with it. It is very difficult to precisely grade a coin with only a photo. You could say something like "high grade" without committing to a specific grade and allowing the potential buyer to judge for themselves by the photo you provide. I would roughly judge that to be AU (almost uncirculated) or simply UNC (uncirculated) without getting more specific or assigning a numbered grade.

I see. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
