Coin lot

Hi All.

I had seen this coin lot for sale. I have no idea of any measurements. Does anyone know where they are from? And what would be a reasonable price to pay for them?

Many thanks.
If you don't have any idea about these coins, their origin and value, why do you want to buy them in the first place?
These are Ottoman, mostly silver Akçe coins. The bigger one is billon (probably Kurush) coin mint in Kostantiniyye (Istanbul), its denomination could be determined knowing size and weight.
They are not expensive. If I needed them, I'd pay up to 15 Euro for the lot and hope that there might be something a little more interesting among them after closer inspection, which is not very likely.
I collect coins and tokens which circulated in Africa from 18th century to 2000. I sell about 7000 illustrated world coins from http://www.avscoins.com.
While I thank you sincerely for your help I find your first question ridiculous bordering on, dare I say it, silly. The reason I put the coins on the forum is that I would know about the coins before I consider bidding.
This lot looks interesting, I bet it will end more than 15€ !

I did not mean any offence, nor my question was silly. Ottoman numismatics is a huge and not easy area of collecting requiring certain knowledge. Akçe is one of the most common Ottoman coins, but to sort through them you need to read at least some Arabic. Since you didn't even know that the lot consisted mostly of Akçe coins, you are obviously a novice in the area of Ottoman coins.
Collecting is like swimming: you don't start learning to swim by jumping from a ship in the middle of the ocean, you start in shallow waters. Same with Ottoman coins: it's better to start with 19th-20th century coins and later with new knowledge go deeper in time, than to begin with Akçe coins. With Akçes as a start you could drown without acquiring knowledge, get tired in the process and loose interest to collecting Ottoman, which would be a loss to us all.
Here is a link to give you the idea about the ocean of Ottoman numismatics you are preparing to dive into

Most Akçes you'll find somewhere in the middle of the list of Ottoman rulers on the left of the screen.

Hi Andrey. Absolutely no offence taken. I just thought your question curious at best. What you are saying is one hundred percent correct. I have purchased Ottoman coins in the past and, if you excuse the expression, they are a pain in the rear to identify.

My problem with what you are saying is I don't understand why you deem it necessary to have knowledge beforehand rather than acquiring later. Spending years studying Ottoman coins is not going to help me with this coin lot. Whereas buying these coins and being forced to try and identify them is a method of learning.

I am sure plenty of members on this site have purchased coins they had no idea on especially for a perceived bargain. You even said it yourself in your first reply

''... and hope that there might be something a little more interesting among them after closer inspection..''

Therefore you would buy something you were unsure of.

All the best and thanks again for your help.
